PIEGA Master Line Source 2 GEN2The Master Line Source 2 Gen2 converts your room into a private concert hall, where all sounds are reproduced three-dimensionally in their natural beauty. The hand-crafted speakers with line sources and dipole system offer unique spatial reproduction with an unparalleled sense of depth. The result is a strikingly realistic and immersive sound experience that puts you right in the middle of the action.Unique ribbon technology Piega's exceptional ribbon technology embodies decades of expertise and precise craftsmanship. The midrange tweeters, unsurpassed worldwide, are manufactured by hand in a highly complex procedure that requires nothing but perfection. With its level of detail and degree of efficiency, the ribbon clearly surpasses the performance of a conventional midrange or tweeter. Its excellent sound characteristics result from a wafer-thin aluminum foil diaphragm and several flat coils, which are etched out in a very complex spray-etching process. With a mere 20 micrometers thickness, the membrane acts as a voice coil and simultaneously as the actual driver. The moving mass, driven by the strongest neodymium magnets, is an ultra-light seven milligrams, creating unrivaled impulse behavior and superior resolution. Symmetric Line Source Line source speakers, also known as line source drivers, carry music lovers with the highest demands off into an impressive sound universe. Compared to conventional loudspeakers, the sound waves of a line source driver expand vertically in a cylindrical shape. This characteristic allows the sounds of the mid and high ranges to reach the listener directly without being reflected from the ceiling or the floor. In addition, line sources have excellent impulse fidelity, allowing instruments to be reproduced in their full dynamic range and large orchestras to shine with authentic vigor. The symmetric array of the midrange also improves the horizontal radiation pattern and produces a more homogeneous soundstage. Acoustic lens with backward lamellae The acoustic lens contributes significantly to optimizing the acoustic properties. Due to its elaborate construction, the sound emitting backward is transformed into a diffuse sound field, producing a perfect soundscape even in acoustically challenging rooms. Using diffraction and reflection, the black-lacquered lamellae distribute the sounds evenly so that the speakers can be placed close to the wall or any where else in the room. Solid cabinet contruction To fully utilize the drivers outstanding quality and lack of distortion, the utmost care has been placed on the cabinet›s construction to avoid even the slightest resonances. The line source driver is mounted on a 10 mm thick aluminum baffle which is fully bonded to the exceptionally solid and rigid enclosure. A technique that creates a perfect operating environment for the two 220-millimeter UHQD® woofers and the passively resonating membranes. Elegant apperance The aluminum baffle lends the Master Line Source 2 Gen2 a modern and sophisticated aesthetic, while the matte finish of the cabinet provides understated elegance. Its precise contours and the well-balanced ratio of form and function echo the close alliance with renowned designer Stephan Hürlemann. As a striking design element, the rear lamellae elegantly accentuate the technical capabilities and give the speakers a timeless and sophisticated appearance. Brilliant mid- and high-frequency reproduction Four meticulously stacked line source driver ribbons, handcrafted with the utmost precision in Piega's manufactory, guarantee a breathtaking performance of all mid and high frequencies, reproducing every note, instrument, and voice with clarity and precision. Dazzling depths Two 220 mm UHQD® woofers and two rear, passively radiating UHQD® membranes produce precise, detail-rich basses with excellent dynamics - even at low volumes. The applied aluminum membranes are incredibly rigid and, at the same time, ultralight for fast and accurate pulse response. With a very low mechanical loss, higher efficiency, and exceptional fine dynamics, they are an ideal symbiotic partner for Piega's ribbon technology.
