Dynaudio was started in 1977 by Wilfried Ehrenholz with the goal of making Hi-Fi speakers without their own sound and with an unprecedented authentic reproduction. As there were no speaker units in the world that were good enough for this project, a factory was started up in Skanderborg. The philosophy is repeated in all the products that Dynaudio makes and has helped to make Dynaudio one of the world's most respected speaker manufacturers. In order for the products to have exactly the quality you want, they are still produced in Denmark, where the trend is otherwise towards moving everything to the Far East.
Dynaudio currently exports to 80 countries around the world and has won awards worldwide for the products. Production takes place 100% in Skanderborg, where production capacity is doubled every year, and therefore employs approx. 450 people worldwide.
Dynaudio places extreme demands on quality, which means that only 52 out of 1 mil. devices must be defective. Dynaudio has their own cabinet factory in Vejle, where cabinets are produced by experienced carpenters. This quality has not only made Dynaudio highly regarded among millions of music lovers worldwide, but also the fact that DR and the BBC have filled all their editing spaces with Dynaudio speakers. Dolby also used Dynaudio speakers for the introduction of the new Dolby surround formats, Dynaudio is also a subcontractor to both Volvo and VW.
