Most of our Hi-Fi devices are equipped with toroidal transformers and that is a good thing, but such a bandit has a big minus and that is that incoming DC from the mains can cause mechanical noise from the toroidal core. This is where the DC blocker comes in and blocks the DC so that it does not enter the transformer, thereby avoiding the noise that will unbearably degrade the sound experience. It is inserted into the mains socket of the device and the power plug is then inserted into the DC blocker.
If you have both a ground loop and a humming transformer in your equipment, you can use both a GND Defender followed by a DC Blocker, put in the equipment in the following order, first must GND Defender is put in the amplifier, then you put DC Blocker behind the GND Defender and finally the power plug at the back of the DC Blocker. Power -> DC Blocker -> GND Defender -> Amplifier • ZERO DC Block technology: Blocks incoming DC up to 1,200 mV • Voltage range 90-240 volts • Maximum current consumption: >7A • Continuous current consumption: 4A • Universal IEC: Hospital-grade IEC • Dimensions 68 x 37 x 32 mm. • Weight 63 g.
