The Spin-Clean® story starts back in the Chicago USA in 1974, when the manufacturer Fidelitone INC., which sold pick-up and other turntable accessories, made the unit "Spin 'n Clean." It was later acquired by Paul C. Mawhinney's business Record-Rama Sound Archives, which began producing the units in Pittsburgh in 1975. When Poul retired and closed the Record-Rama, the current owner, his son, Mark Mawhinney took over Spin 'n Clean the product with the help of Chad Kassem, owner of Acoustic Sounds. During the first months of 2010, significant improvements were made to the existing Spin-Clean, including everything from rebuilding, finishing and precision to gentler cloths for wiping the vinyl sheets after washing.
After 40 years on the market, since June 2010, the new Spin-Clean® Record Washer MKII has been distributed all over the world for the benefit of enthusiasts and vinyl lovers.
