Highlights:• Handcrafted Precision: GOL-1 moving coil generator for unparalleled performance.• Line-Contact Diamond Stylus: Ensures maximum detail retrieval and minimal groove wear. • Alloy Cantilever: Optimized for stability and precise tracking. • Cross-Shaped Armature: Reduced weight and improved stereo imaging. • Neodymium Magnet: Guarantees flat and extended frequency response. • Aluminum Chassis: Low mass and effective resonance damping. Goldring Ethos:A premium cartridge designed to deliver exceptional sound quality. Equipped with a vital-shank, line-contact diamond stylus, the Ethos ensures unmatched detail retrieval while significantly reducing groove wear. The stylus’s low tip mass and large contact area allow precise reproduction, even of ultrasonic frequencies. At the heart of the Ethos is the hand-built GOL-1 moving coil generator. The cross-shaped armature, made of Swedish iron, ensures low unsprung mass and minimal crosstalk, creating an impressive stereo image. The alloy cantilever tube is optimized for maximum stability and trackability, while the custom damping system keeps the unit stable during even the most complex musical passages. The Ethos’ lightweight yet rigid aluminum chassis contributes to low mass and effective resonance control. The neodymium magnet creates a precise magnetic field that ensures a flat and extended frequency response. The result is a pickup that delivers a world-class musical experience. Goldring is a pioneer in hi-fi, renowned for quality and innovation for over a century. Founded in Berlin in 1906 by Czech brothers Heinrich and Julius Scharf, Goldring began by producing components for the gramophone industry and quickly became synonymous with expertise and reliability. In the 1920s, their Juwel Electro sound box became an icon of quality, laying the foundation for their global reputation.
After relocating to England in 1933, Goldring continued technological advancements, particularly in electric pickups. The 1950s saw the revolutionary Goldring 500 pickup, which became popular at the BBC and stood as a symbol of high-quality hi-fi. Collaboration with Lenco in the 1960s led to the GL75 turntable, a timeless classic.
Goldring has maintained its position as a key player in the modern vinyl world by launching advanced MM and MC cartridges, like the Ethos and the E series, ensuring new generations access high-quality sound. From its early days to today’s products, Goldring remains a driving force in hi-fi, blending heritage with cutting-edge technology.
