Thorens - New Reference Collection:More than two years have passed since the last Thorens compilation, and Thorens has not been idle in the meantime. The TD124, dedicated to "Tribute To A Legend," remains highly popular. With the "New Reference" they have committed to a passion project. The most elaborate turntable in Thorens' history is intended to provide a deeper, more accurate insight into both new and old records using new technologies employed for the first time in the HiFi field. A period of around 60 years is represented on this double album: The oldest productions were made in 1960, at the beginning of the stereo era. The newest ones were made just a few years ago. In selecting the titles, Thorens once again delved deeply into the private vinyl collection, combining old favorites and newer test highlights into a very personal yet widely appealing mix: a certain fondness for soul is unmistakable.Trackliste: • She Moves On (Youn Sun Nah) • Trampled Under Foot (Vanessa Fernandez) • VTT (Vital Tech Tones) • I Hold No Grudge (Betty LaVette) • This Is What You Are (Mario Biondi & The High Five Quintet) • Fever (Elvis Presley) • Let It Be Me (Inger Marie Gundersen) • Autumn Leaves (Eva Cassidy) • Just A Little Lovin' (Shelby Lynne) • American Dream (Ondara) • Colour To The Moon (Allan Taylor) • Canadian Sunset (Gene Ammons) • La Vita (Beverly Glenn-Copeland) New Reference Collection – a project close to the heart • DMM • 45 RPM • 180 gram jomfruvinyl

Thorens is a Swiss manufacturer of high-end audio equipment and best known for its wide range of high-quality, versatile turntables. Over time, Thorens has also produced harmonics and even automatic lighters, but now it is sound equipment and primarily gramophones that are in the product portfolio.
The family firm Thorens was founded back in 1883 in St. Croix, Switzerland and started producing music boxes and watches. Later in 1903, Thorens started producing phonographs of the Edison type and in 1928 Thorens produced their first electric gramophone (engine-driven). Later in the 1950s and 1960s, Thorens made a number of audiophile recorders, which are still known today as high-end audio products and highly sought after by collectors and audio enthusiasts.
Today, Thorens makes popular record players in all price ranges and has recently won an EISA award for their critically acclaimed stylish TD 309 gramophone
