The latest generation of AV receivers from Onkyo is ready to occupy your living room or home cinema. We find four new models in Onkyo's line-up, all of which are equipped with the latest technologies to give you the ultimate sound and picture experience. This means that, among other things, we find support for 8K@60Hz and 4K@120Hz, as well as HDR, Dolby Vision, eARC and everything else that the latest HDMI 2.1 standard has to offer.
The second smallest model of 8K receivers from Onkyo is their TX-NR6100, which, like its little brother, is a 7.2 channel receiver. However, you get 210 watts per channel in 6 Ohm (1 channel driven), instead of the 165 watts on the smaller model. For pure stereo listening, the TX-NR6100 offers 2x100 powerful watts at 8 Ohms, which is enough to drive a pair of serious floorstanding speakers without issue. By having seven channels, it means you have the opportunity to play with Dolby Atmos in a 5.2.2 setup. Since we are dealing with a state-of-the-art receiver, this naturally also means that we will find all the latest streaming functions, such as Spotify Connect, Airplay 2, TIDAL, Roon and more. There is also an advanced Bluetooth chip built into the TX-NR6100, which has aptX HD support, for simple streaming of your music without being connected to a network.
As something new, the updated receivers from Onkyo also offer what they call "Klipsch Optimize Mode". In all its simplicity, this means that you can easily adjust the sound and optimize it if you use the Klipsch Reference or Reference Premiere speakers - brilliant. Of course, we also find Onkyo's AccuEQ calibration, which can be used to optimize the sound in any speaker system, even if you don't own Klipsch speakers. Support for smart control via Google Home, Amazon Alexa, dedicated HDMI output for zone 2 and app control are also just some of the many smart features that the TX-NR6100 has up its sleeve.
Works with SONOS certified:
This receiver is certified by Sonos and can therefore be connected to an existing Sonos Sound System, simply by pairing the receiver with a dedicated Sonos port on the network that hears to the zone. The Sonos port is physically connected with an audio cable to an input in the receiver, and Sonos will then be able to wake up the receiver, change the input and play with that volume, all via the Sonos app. Perfect for bringing the living room into a complete Sonos multi-room system and thereby being able to play music in e.g. both kitchen-dining room and living room at the same time, without having to switch on the surround receiver and control the volume manually. Just as user-friendly as you always wanted it to be! NOTE: It requires a Sonos port player per surround receiver to be able to use this function.

The first step towards pure audio at Onkyo, takes us all the way back to September 1946, when the company was founded under the name "Osaka Denki ONKYO KK" and started producing pick-ups for turntables, which cost almost an entire month's salary for a Japanese at the time.
Throughout, Onkyo has been on the notes from the very beginning. Their deep basic knowledge as well as seniority is clearly seen and heard on the products available in the market today.
